The Queens curse <chapter 6>

Far beyond the borders of Crystal Cove lay a forgotten kingdom.

A kingdom of black roses.

A kingdom of endless twilight.

A kingdom where no birds sang and no sunlight touched the earth.

At its centre stood a tower so tall that its highest windows pierced the clouds themselves.

The Tower of the Broken Heart.

And within that tower slept a queen.

Queen Cyddie.

To her people she was kind.

Wise.

Strong.

She healed wounds.

She comforted the frightened.

She protected those who had nowhere else to turn.

The kingdom loved her.

But none of them knew the truth.

For every night, when darkness covered the land, the real Cyddie lay imprisoned high within the tower.

Alone.

Forgotten.

Cursed.

The room was beautiful in the saddest way imaginable.

Black roses bloomed from the stone walls.

Silver stars drifted through the air like ash.

Long black thorns wrapped around pillars and windows, twisting upward into the endless night.

Upon a bed of stone and ripped stitch blankets, the queen.

Her dress, once radiant, hung in ribbons around her.

Her face was peaceful.

Too peaceful.

For this was not true sleep.

It was the numbness of a broken heart.

Beside her stood a black marble table.

Upon it rested a crystal dome.

And beneath the dome...

her heart.

Still beating.

Still glowing.

A beautiful crimson light trapped beneath crystal.

Cracked.

Broken.

Alone.

Every beat echoed through the tower.

Every crack whispered sorrow.

And every night, as nightmares gathered around her bed, Cyddie would reach through her dreams toward someone she could no longer touch.

Tears would fall from sleeping eyes.

Soft whispers escaped her lips.

"Please come back..."

The darkness listened.

"Please fight for me..."

The black roses trembled.

"Please rescue me from this dark..."

The stars above wept silver tears.

"You promised I wouldn't have to do this alone."

But no answer ever came.

Only silence.

And so the curse continued.

Night after night.

Year after year.

The queen ruled by day.

Yet by night her empty shell remained trapped within the tower.

Waiting.

Always waiting.

Certain that only another could save her.

Certain that only another could return her heart.

Certain that she was incomplete.

The darkness loved this belief.

It fed upon it.

It whispered it.

It wrapped around her like chains.

she did her best  but Yet the truth was more complicated than the darkness understood.

Queen Cyddie did love herself.

She knew her worth.

She knew her strength.

But even queens carried doubts.

Even queens grew tired.

Even queens wondered, in the quiet hours of the night, whether they had been enough.she braved the days and lay sliently at night in pain her heart for ever in the dome.

safe from herself and kept safely away from others so it couldn't be broken more then it was,

the queen kept herself and the darkness in the tower and the nights so never to bleed into the light of day so never to show or burden others with the curse.

She gave all she could during the day and fell into tiredness that she could never get enough rest from in the night and swore the kingdom would only need her to rule and to protect.

so never to hurt the others of the kingdom ... her heart pined for what she knew would never be no one was recusing her and she had to be brave an carry on even if that was alone and heart broken forever.

Yet by night, her empty shell remained trapped within the tower.

Waiting.

Always waiting.

Certain that only another could save her.

Certain that only another could return her heart.

Certain that she was incomplete.

The darkness loved this belief.

There, hidden from the eyes of her kingdom, she allowed herself to feel the pain she would never show by daylight.

Her heart remained forever beneath the crystal dome.

Safe from herself.

Safe from others.

for the queen had convinced herself that some wounds could never heal.

And so she locked both her heart and her darkness away within the tower.

She would not burden her people with the curse she carried.

Instead, she gave everything she had to the kingdom.

Every smile.

Every kindness.

Every last piece of strength.

She swore the kingdom would only ever need her as its ruler and protector.

Never as a burden.

Never as someone who needed saving.

And though her people saw a strong queen upon the throne, none of them knew of the lonely figure sleeping beneath black roses and silver stars.

None of them knew of the heart that still beat beneath crystal.

None of them knew of the longing she carried.

For deep within her soul lived a hope she believed would never come to pass.

A dream she dared not speak aloud.

A love she could never quite let go.

And so the queen carried on.

Brave.

Loyal.

Heartbroken.

Believing that no one was coming.

Believing that rescue belonged only in stories.

Believing that she must endure alone.

Forever if necessary.

For that, she believed, was the duty of a queen it gave her the dignity of being strong and hurting at the same time.

Because the thing that makes her keep going isn't weakness.

It's that she keeps getting up every morning despite the ache.

The End or just the Beginning ?💛 xxx

For darkness can be felt by all some darker then others but can one darkness call to another or does darkness live in us all and talks to its-self and call to it's self in inside others ?
